Violinist
Born in 1999 in Lausanne, Switzerland, Samuel Hirsch began studying the violin at the age of seven, then took lessons with François Sochard, first solo violin of the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. He entered Renaud Capuçon's class in 2014, and obtained the Bachelor's degree in June 2017, with the special Paléo – Hes-so prize. " for its exceptional Bachelor's level ". He obtained his Master's degree in June 2019 and has since studied at the Menuhin International Music Academy with Oleg Kaskiv.
In particular, he won several first prizes at the Swiss Youth Music Competition in solo and chamber music, and was nominated for the first edition of the Youth Prize of the City of Lausanne, in December 2015. In 2016, he received the EMCY prize ( European Union of Youth Music Competitions). In March 2019, he was a finalist and Special Prize of the A. Grumiaux International Competition for young violinists.
He frequently performs in Switzerland and Europe in chamber music, in recital and as a soloist.
