MATUS MAZAR
Baritone
Slovak Baritone Matúš Mazár was born in 1992 in Michalovce. After obtaining his diploma in opera singing at the Conservatory of Košice (Slovakia) in 2013, he moved to Prague for a Bachelor's degree with Roman Janál at the Academy of Musical Arts and is currently studying at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. in Elisabeth Wilke's class. He will obtain his Master Gesang in 2021. Matúš sings regularly at the State Theater of Košice where we could hear him in the roles of the Hunter, Rusalka (Dvořák), Marco Gianni Schicci (Puccini), Marullo Rigoletto (Verdi) and Marchese d'Obigny, La Traviata (Verdi). In Prague, Matúš sings the roles of Papageno, Die Zauberflöte (Mozart) at the Academy of Musical Arts, Fiorello, Barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini) with the Chamber Opera, Tevere and Genio, Costanza and Fortezza (JJFux) under the direction of Marel Stryncl and Yamadori, Madame Butterfly (Puccini) at the State Opera. Matúš Mazár is a laureate of several national and international competitions (Slovakia, Czech Republic, Italy) and has followed the masterclasses of Daniela de Marco and Antonio Florio, Margit Klaushofer, Renato Bruson and KS Bernd Weikl.
