After a bachelor's degree with Brigitte Balleys at the Hemu Lausanne, the Swiss soprano Sophie Negoita finished her master's degree with Barbara Bonney at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. A member of the master's degree at the Lausanne Conservatory, she performed very early on at the Lausanne Opera and at the Grand-Théâtre de Genève in roles such as Sophie Brook (Petit Ramoneur, Britten) or the first boy (Magic Flute, Mozart). . Sophie has sung several times under the direction of Philippe Huttenlocher, notably the roles of Cupid in Venus and Adonis (Blow), Venus, Cupid and Soprano in King Arthur (Purcell), Second Woman in Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) and Quivera in The Indian Queen (Purcell). In concert we have been able to hear him hold the solo parts of the St-Jean Passion (Bach), the Christmas Oratorio (Bach), the Missa in Angustiis (Haydn) and Mozart's Requiem, among others. Sophie sang La Courte Paille by Poulenc in the foyer of La Monnaie in Brussels and was invited three consecutive years to the Festival of Strings in Orvieto, Italy (Exultate Jubilate by Mozart and Bachianas Brasileiras by Villa-Lobos). She sang Solveig (Peer Gynt, Grieg) at the Théâtre du Jorat as well as the roles of Barbara Gerl and Farinelli during three editions of the Festival d'Avignon in plays by Jean Chollet. Recently she sang Poulenc's Gloria with the CameratAmoyal and made her debut in Germany at the Forum für Neue Musik Klanggabe in Frankfurt and in Salzburg as Mrs. Coyle in Owen Wingrave at the OperMozarteum.
