Jeremy Bager, bassoonist, was born in 1996 in Lausanne. He studied with Carlo Colombo in Lausanne, Francis Pollet in Antwerp and Giorgio Mandolesi in Zurich. At the same time, he regularly participated in masterclasses by renowned professors such as Dag Jensen, Guillaume Santana, Václav Vonášek, Martin Gatt, Pierre Martens, Pieter Nuytten and Richard Galler.

 

Jeremy is a passionate orchestral musician, which has earned him participation in several international orchestras, such as the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra, the Orchester Symphonique Suisse de Jeunes (SJSO), Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra and the Orchester des Young Gustav Mahler. He also performs with various professional ensembles, including the Basel and Lausanne Chamber Orchestras and the Leipzig Sinfonietta. Since February 2019, he has been an academician of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig where he works regularly with his mentors, first bassoons of the orchestra, David Petersen and Thomas Reinhardt.

 

Jeremy is also an avid chamber musician. In addition to the various ensembles formed during his studies and then in Leipzig, he took part in various international chamber music festivals. In 2013, Jeremy took part in a trio tour (with flute and piano) through Switzerland, England and India. In duet with his brother pianist Frederic Bager, domiciled in London, he regularly gives recitals in Switzerland and abroad. He is also a founding member of the Ensemble Astera (wind quintet) and of the Camerata Figarella in Corsica.
