Florian PODGOREANU
Pianist
Born in Romania in 1985, Florian Podgoreanu began his musical studies at the age of 7 in the music school of his hometown, Ploiești. In 2000, he entered the “George Enescu” Musical High School in Bucharest and studied piano with Professor Ileana Busuioc. He continued his studies with a Bachelor's degree in the class of Professor Cordelia Höfer-Teusch as well as a Master's degree with Professor Imre Rohmann at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. As a pianist and composer, Florian has won several national competitions (Bucharest, Suceava, Ploiești, Braila) but also international competitions (Romania, Belgium, Austria, Italy). He has been heard playing in Romania, Austria, Germany (Berliner Philarmonie), Switzerland and Italy and has taken part in masterclasses by Serghei Dorensky, Lory Wallfish, Lisa Leonskaya, Viniciu Moroianu, Trevor Pinock and Rolf Dieter Arena. He has also collaborated with several international artists such as Wenzel Fuchs, Enrico Bronzi, Paolo Taballione and Ionut Podgoreanu. As a soloist, Florian has been invited several times to play concertos by Mozart, Chopin and Rachmaninoff with various orchestras. Close to singing, Florian is a member of the CantoSonor ensemble where he sings as a baritone and since 2013 he has been an accompanist in the wind department at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg.
